PATRICIA MAY JENKINS (BEAMISH - BARNES)
Born: Jun 03, 1948
Date of Passing: Jun 16, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA MAY JENKINS (nee BEAMISH - BARNES) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pat. She ended her journey with cancer on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Pat leaves to mourn her husband Raymond; daughter Donna (Jeff); Ray's children, Susan (Mona), Ross; sisters Bonnie and Marion; numerous nieces and nephews, Brian, Neil (Maggie) Barnes and many friends from along the way. She was predeceased by her mother Jackie; father Donald; father-in-law Ernest Barnes, and mother-in-law Olive Barnes. On June 3, 1948 Pat was born to Jacqueline Harrison and Donald Beamish. She met and married Brian in the 1960s and they had one daughter Donna. Pat worked retail for most of her career and made many friends along the way. In the late 1990s Pat met Ray and they were married in May 1998. They spent many summers out at Star Lake, took winter holidays, road trips to Calgary to see Susan, and shopping trips to the US. Pat had an incredible sense of humour. If you knew her, you laughed with her. She was warm, caring and loved her family. She made awesome perogies, terrific lemon meringue pie, and amazing butter tarts. Pat always put extra raisins in her butter tarts. This was for Ray's enjoyment and to Donna's dismay. She loved her dogs and it pained her when she was no longer able to walk "Walker". Pat and Donna walked the dogs many, many miles over the years around the neighbourhood and out at the lake. These long walks will be greatly missed. Golden Retrievers were always her favourite and we know all of them were there to greet her in heaven. Give Amber, J.C., Brandy and Captain Morgan a big hug from all of us. On Thursday, June 20, 2013 Pat's Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Victoria Inn Hotel, 1808 Wellington Avenue. A private interment has been held in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. A huge thank you is extended to Dr. Pat Harris, Dr. Joel Gingerich, Dr. Wong, the awesome teams at Grace CancerCare, St. Boniface Pain and Symptom Clinic, and Riverview Health Centre. We met many, many, awesome, caring and compassionate people along the way. Donations in Pat's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or any animal shelter of one's choice; because of her love for animals. For the way this ended ..... F. S. D.

I met Pat many years ago. About 1985-86. She was kind, good of heart and funny. Pat once said to me something that changed my view of myself. Pat said, as I was partaking in a fundraiser fashion show for my son’s daycare and concerned about my appearance, “You're not cute and you’re not pretty but you are striking. Pretty and cute go away but striking never does.” Pat who attended that day and spoke those truisms changed my view of self forever. She changed my life in many ways with her wise heart, kindness and loving nature. I’ve never forgotten and often thought of Pat. I’m sorry she’s passed and it now being so many years since lives on in me. In my heart and thoughts she will always be. Love to you my now angel friend. I will always remember and thank you for being my friend when I so needed one. - Posted by: Charisse Rempel. (Friend. ) on: Feb 20, 2022

So sorry to hear about Pat ,my condolences to Ray, Ross and Susan. Mom and her spent a lot of good fun times together at Richmond apartments. May her and mom share those times in heaven again, both too young to go. I will miss seeing her at Polo Park was there to say hi today when I found out the news. God only takes the best. Sorry I missed the service. Cherish the memories. RIP Pat - Posted by: Parris Larose-Thompson (Friend from PP&Richmond St) on: Jul 15, 2013

My darling sister will be missed by many but I was blessed to call her sister for 65 years and 13 days. She was smart, funny, incredibly kind and thoughtful to each and every person she met. She took great pride in being Donna's mother and they shared a very close bond. Her loving life has left me with such special and precious memories. I will miss you forever dear girl. - Posted by: Bonnie Beamish ("Big" Sister) on: Jun 19, 2013

Our memory of Pat is at your wedding in 2010, she was so gracious in all ways. Her kindness and warm heart shone throughout the weekend and the smile on her face as big as the oudoors riding on the back of that Big Red Trike around Assiniboine park was memorable. We are so sorry for the loss of such a fine woman. - Posted by: Kathryn Kopciuk & Jill Nixon (friends of Sue & Mona's) on: Jun 18, 2013
