FRANK LE SANN Accidentally, on June 15, 2013, Frank Le Sann passed away in his home in Elie, MB at the age of 85 along with his visiting brother Alain (83). Frank was born Jean François Marie Le Sann to parents Alain and Euphrasie Le Sann on April 10, 1928 on a small farm in Theodore, SK and he maintained those small town principles and community values the rest of his life. Frank attended the University of Saskatchewan and obtained his diploma in Agriculture in 1944 and soon after the family took their cattle and horses and moved to Elie, MB, where Frank later met and married Emma and raised their five children. Frank farmed in the Elie area and over the years was instrumental in setting up and helping with his brother Armand's farm in The Pas. He took a welding course at Tech Voc school early on in his farming career, and spent much time perfecting his art after that. In the mid-90s he "retired" - which meant he sold most of his land and started working for others, helping with custom combining, and spending a lot of time perfecting his love of welding and metalwork. He continued welding for everyone in the community until his last days - he was always ready with his portable welder loaded into the truck. Frank was known for his big heart, the twinkle in his eye, his big voice, and his tall tales and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in the community. Frank is survived by his former spouse Emma and their five children - Julie (Adrian Peek), Angie, Patricia (Al Thornquist), Valerie (Paul Macharia), and Michel (Donna Mandeville), and his five grandchildren - Arielle, Olivier, Nanaiyu, Margo, and Euphrasie. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Marie (Max - deceased), Aline (Joe), Yves (Ellie), Euphrasie (Hubert), Armand (Kathy), and Josephine (Normand - deceased), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends from around the community of Elie and beyond. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Anne-Marie (Irving). Mass of the Christian Burial for Frank Le Sann and his brother Alain will be celebrated by Father Legitemas on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Church in Elie, MB with private interment to follow in the parish cemetery. The family would like to thank the Cartier Paramedics and Fire Department and the Headingley R.C.M.P. for their courtesy, time and kindness. Frank did specialty welding on my motorcycle back in 1971. He did an exceptional job and did not want anything for his work. My next encounter with Frank was last December working as his welder's helper while building box stalls for my brother, Florent. Two days of Frank going up and down the ladder like a 40 year old. The best compliment was when he told my brother, Guy that I could be his helper anytime. I was looking forward to visiting with Frank presently. I guess someone had different visiting plans. My deepest sympathies to family and friends for the loss of a great man with a big heart. - Posted by: Paul Rivard (Friend) on: Jun 22, 2013

Frank always had the biggest smile and a "Hello, how are things going?" whenever we would see each other whether it would be in Elie or at Welders Supplies (where I work). I'll always remember his good natured spirit. It was sad hearing of his passing but I'm sure he's in good company with some of his ol' buddies! My deepest condolences and biggest hug to all of you. - Posted by: Gisèle Gillis (friend) on: Jun 20, 2013
