DR. HAROLD KERR STANDING Peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 Harold Kerr Standing passed away at the age of 84. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda; children Doug (Britta) of St. Albert, Carol Main (David) of Minneapolis, Paul (Lori) of Calgary and Tom (Bobbi) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Kevin, Kayla Main, Leah, Blaine, Amy, Carissa and Brooke. He will be dearly missed by his brother Ken. Harold is predeceased by his parents Elsie and Graham Standing, sister Kathleen Taylor, brother John and granddaughter Kristen. Harold worked for the International Nickel Company (INCO) Research Department in Sudbury, ON for several years following his degree in Science. He returned to the University of Manitoba to study Medicine, graduating in 1958. After spending eight years in General Practice in Thompson, MB. Harold moved back to Winnipeg to pursue a career in Radiology. He was a partner with the Radiology Consultants of Winnipeg until his retirement in 1991. Many happy summers were spent at Falcon Lake where Harold rebuilt the family cottage and enjoyed gardening. In his later years he treasured the visits from his children and grandchildren. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Victoria General Hospital for their care and kindness during his hospital stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Day Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, or The Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2103 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
