LIBBY ESTHER LESHGOLD Libby Esther Leshgold passed away peacefully at her home in Vancouver, B.C. on June 12, 2013 surrounded by her loving husband and children. Libby, the daughter of Ethel and Morris R. Stall, was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was the third of four daughters in a beloved Winnipeg family. Libby was a creative person whose interest in interior design and architecture led to her choice of professional studies at the University of Manitoba, where she was awarded the Bachelor of Interior Design degree. She worked as an interior designer for Pilkington Glass in Winnipeg and then in Vancouver, where she met and married her husband Jack Leshgold. Their marriage was a combination of inseparable friendship and companionship and a 59-year love affair. Libby's zest for travel and adventure was surpassed only by her love for her husband, children and grandchildren. Her passion for food and cooking was the foundation for memorable family gatherings and enabled her to create a home whether she was in Vancouver, California, or on the high seas. She was an individual whom everyone strived to emulate both in her elegance and in her effervescence. With an infectious laugh and a witty personality, Libby was a joy to be around. The family expresses deep gratitude to Libby's loyal friend and caregiver Cris Gensaya. Libby is greatly missed by her husband Jack, daughter Susan and husband Larry Goldstein, son Robert Leshgold and partner Sherry Forbes, grandchildren Kirby and Pippi Goldstein, Sam and Harry Leshgold, and her sisters Surella Ames, Shirley Diner and Audrey Stall.

  • My tribute is to my cousin who I loved since we were children in Winnipeg. She was so special to Barbara and me. Barbara found Libby to be closest to her heart. I was happy we had a chance over the years to spend time together. She will always remain deep in my soul - Posted by: Norman and Barbara Mittelmann (cousin) on: Jun 24, 2013
