HENRY J. GUIMOND SR. It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Henry Joseph Guimond Sr., known to friends as Chocky, on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Henry leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 30 years, Zelma, his children R.J. (Margaret), Louis, Marty (Stefanie), Henry Jr., and Jessica (David), his mother Annette, his brothers Lawrence (Nicole), Claude (Denise), Richard (Sharon), Robert (Melodie), his sisters Susie (Garry), Fran (Roland), and Jan (Norbert), his grandchildren Kaylee, Antwan, Harmony, Thade, Chanelle, Shayelynne, Tyson and Aliannah, sisters Elaine and Rita, his father-in-law Rod, his great-aunts Fran, Evelyn, Marg, Madeline, his great-uncle Harold as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and all his buds. He was predeceased by parents Joe and Dora, his father Charles, his mother-in-law Madeline, grandparents William and Angele, his brothers-in-law Alex, Nelson, Clarence and Roland, his cousin Joe, and his nephew Rich. Henry was known to be involved in sports, first as an athlete in the local hockey and fastball teams, then as a coach for his sons' hockey teams, a player-coach in the fastball team, and as a fan for his daughter's hockey, fastball and lacrosse teams. Choc was a good man to those who knew him, Choc was always joking around and if you were in the vicinity and you heard that laugh, you knew it was Choc. His friendliness and laughter will be missed by many he knew. The wake services will be held at the Anglican Church in Sagkeeng, beginning Thursday, June 20 at 12:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 24 at 12:00 p.m. at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, with viewing at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service, there will be a feast to follow at the Kakakepenaise Memorial Hall. Fathers Augustine and Malachy will be the Celebrants. Pallbearers will be Paul Guimond, Julian Guimond, Mark Mazur Jr., Ray Beaulieu, Brian R. Fontaine, and Adam Bruyere. Honorary Pallbearers will be children R.J., Louis, Marty, Henry Jr., Jessica, his grandchildren Kaylee, Antwan, Harmony, Thade, Chanelle, Shayelynne, Tyson and Aliannah, and nephews Mychal, Colby, Scott, Stefan, Mario, Tyndall, JC, Garry, Kale, Darion, Liam, and Jonah. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Selkirk General and Health Sciences Centre for their care given to Henry.   • Henry was a kind and happy go lucky kind a guy,,,our sons marty and henry jr played hockey together. I was privileged to coach both Marty and henry jr. My condolences to Zelma and Family. I just heard today the sad news. We would have been at the funeral for Henry. We were very fond of Henry and had a deep respect for Henry. There are so many good things and memories I could say about Henry, I could right a book. All I can say all the people we met through hockey, henry was the best.   • I am so sorry for your loss. I got to know Chocky and some of his kids over my years in the Sagkeeng area. He was just one of those people who is so full of life. One year his daughter played hockey with mine. He made all those practices and games bearable with his great sense of humour and his kindness towards everyone.
