KATHY DENISE CASTLE (LITTLE) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathy Denise Castle (Little) on June 20 at the age of 54. Kathy will forever be loved and missed by her husband of 29 years, Ron Castle, her children; Kelly (Vivian) Castle, Kristin (Chris) Maier and Kari (Sebastien) Hachey, her brothers; Wayne Little, Robin (Lauren) Little, and Ken (Kim) Little, her granddaughters; Rowyn and Sydney Maier and expectant granddaughter Baby Hachey. She was predeceased by her parents Warren and Ellen Little. Born in Calgary, Kathy moved to Winnipeg as a young girl where she raised her family and was highly involved in her community as a coach, Brown Owl and president of the WRL. In 2005 Ron and Kathy moved to Penticton to start a new business, Sparkles Window Cleaning. Kathy had a passion for life and met all of life's challenges head on with no apologies. She loved music, travel and gardening but, most of all she loved her family. Already living with MS for 14 years, Kathy was diagnosed with lung cancer in October of 2012, Kathy fought fearlessly and after a valiant effort she succumbed to her disease at the Andy Moog Hospice with her family at her side. She was an inspiration to us all. The family would like to thank the Andy Moog Hospice and their staff for their support and services during this time. Special thanks to Dr. McIntosh for his years of care and compassion. A memorial service will be held on June 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Everden Rust. Dress is casual and Kathy wished for everyone to wear/accessorize in yellow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Andy Moog and Friends Hospice.

  • My thoughts and prayers are with the Castle family. As a kid I spent lots of time over at the Castle house as I lived down the street from them. Many great memories from Kathy taking us to the beach, to staying for dinner, sleep overs and swimming in their pool. I felt like one of their kids, they have the nickname Gummy Bear. - Posted by: Christina Vlachos Santos aka Gummy Bear (Old Friend) on: Jun 24, 2013
