Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Thank you. I just discovered the postings. Jack died in hospice and was ready to go. "I'm curious," he told me, adding that he planned to be with our parents and was looking forward to my mother's cooking for him. When I asked what he wanted, he said, "Her gefilte fish." He laughed when I said, "I've got bad news for you. I have her grinder." - Posted by: sybil adelman sage (sister) on: May 11, 2025

  • My sister and I met Jack in the late 80's right after our move to Manhattan. From almost the first moment we struck up a conversation with him, we became close friends. We visited with him often and he never failed to listen closely and carefully to every story and always had such an authentic interest in the lives of two impressionable, young women. We always looked forward to our time with Jack and loved him as much as our own family. We had recently lost touch for a period of time and stopped by to see him when we heard of his passing. We are completely brokenhearted to hear that we lost our friend, Jack. Please remember that there are 2 women in the world who were profoundly touched by his life. • My deepest sympathy to the family on the loss of your beloved brother. My late husband Herb & I enjoyed our visits with him when visiting New York. Never did get to call him about Herb's passing 5 years ago. He was a great guy & very good company. He will be missed., - Posted by: Corrine Tapley, Vancouver (friend) on: Jun 26, 2013
