JAMES ARCHIBALD MULDREW Jim passed away peacefully on June 22, 2013, after a full and happy life with his wife of 54 years, Gwen, and his four sons Craig (Janine), Ken (Terry), Shawn (Kristan), and Sandy. Jim was a lover of nature, and spent his working life as a federal entomologist, first in Winnipeg, then in Edmonton. An example of his work accomplishments was the introduction of a species that halted the destruction of the larch tree by the sawfly. His dedication to family was reflected in his extensive volunteerism with Greenfield Community League, Snow Valley Ski Club, and Alberta Diabetes Foundation. He was happiest in retirement when travelling across the globe with Gwen, and never refusing another board game with his grandchildren Colleen, Jennifer, Nicole, Edie, Nellie, and Seamus, and great-grandchildren Geoelle, Eva, Jakob and Amelie. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Jessie, and his brother Cecil. He is also survived by his siblings Milton, Fraser, Lucile, and Don, and their families. Memorial donations may be made to Alberta Diabetes Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation. At Jim's request, cremation has taken place and no funeral will be held. A family memorial service is planned for a later date.
