BROWNY SABO 1926 - 2013 Browny Sabo, beloved husband of Carol for 61 years, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on July 1, 2013 at the age of 86. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Lisa, sons Louis (Olga) and Greg (Jean), and by his two beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Dayne. Browny was raised in Winnipeg. He was a consummate athlete and excelled at whatever he undertook - from his days as Twinkle Toes Sabo playing high school football, to playing baseball in small town leagues in Ontario, to curling and tennis. He loved to laugh and was always the last one off the dance floor. Browny married Carol in 1952. The two moved to Red Lake, ON where Browny worked as an accountant in the gold mines. They moved back to Winnipeg in 1967 and in 1984, moved to Calgary where Browny spent many happy years with family and friends. Browny was also an avid bridge player. In 1988, he and Carol took home the gold medal in the provincial senior's bridge competition. A Celebration of Browny's Life will be held at Qualicum Beach, BC. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Unit 8 and his room-mate Bob for the love and kindness they showed Browny.
