Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH RISSIN On Sunday, June 30, 2013, after a prolonged illness, it's with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph Nathan Rissin. Joe is survived by his wife Bernice, daughter Sharon (Gerry) Corr, son Howard (Marianne) Rissin, son Martin (Dey) Rissin, sister Sunny Schachter, grandchildren Ben and Zeph Rissin, Brendan and Aidan Corr, and Jack and Avery Lucatch. Also left to mourn are numerous relatives and friends. Joe was predeceased by his parents Harry and Miriam Rissin, as well as his first wife Claire. Joe was born on May 13, 1931 in Winnipeg, where he was raised and educated. He had a great sense of humour and a kind and caring heart that endeared him to all who knew him. He enjoyed bowling, curling, and golfing. He loved to watch baseball, and was an avid Yankees fan. Joe had a strong sense of family and cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Joe spent the final nine weeks of his life at Riverview Health Centre. Words cannot express our gratitude to the staff for their exceptionally kind and compassionate care, not only for Joe, but his family as well. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverview Health Centre.
