I have many fond memories of my big brother when we were all at home in the Wireless and on Flora Place and Redwood Ave. He loved to tease me, calling me stinker or shorty and chasing me around and snapping a tea towel at me, but never in a mean way, just playful. If I ever felt picked on or threatened I could go to him for protection. I remember him reading books and laughing out loud, which could have started me on my life-long love of books, it was obvious that they were enjoyable. He used to pay me a quarter to shine his shoes, a lot of money for a kid then! I remember Billy as being generous when he had money, buying dresses and parasols for me and Diane, taking us to the drive-in movie, etc., but he was not materialistic and didn`t seem to covet possessions for himself. Why did we grow so far apart, I don`t know. But I am happy for the memories and will continue to keep him in my prayers and hope to meet again one day. - Posted by: Linda Cloutier (sister) on: Jul 15, 2013
