JARED YOUZWA It is with great pain and sorrow we have to announce on Friday, July 12, 2013 our son, brother, and friend Jared Youzwa and the love of his life, Ngan, were tragically taken from us. Jared will be greatly missed by his parents Doug and Cheryl Youzwa, his sisters Nicole and Dalyce Youzwa (Wes), his grandmother Stephie Youzwa, and numerous very special aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and honorary nieces and nephews including the newest addition, Carter Jared. Jared was predeceased by his grandparents Nick Youzwa, Anton and Laura Birg and great-grandmas Baba Oleksiuk and Grandma Coleman. Jared was born in Selkirk, MB on September 5, 1986 - a birthday shared with "far away" Grandma. He was raised and lived in East Selkirk - a country boy who fell in love with a city girl. Jared started off riding John Deeres (of the pedal variety) like his papa, and racing his Kitty Cat like his dad. He attended school at Happy Thought School in East Selkirk, where he took part in the Ukrainian Bilingual program and joined Selkirk and District Ukrainian Dance School, and graduated in 2005 from the The Comp in Selkirk. After high school Jared attended the University of Winnipeg. The family biz was always a big part of Jared's life - he started working with Mom and Dad at New Frontier Meats at a very young age, later at Northern Meats, then eventually at Custom One Cycle. In all the years Dad only fired him once but by the same afternoon he had talked Dad into rehiring him. While in University Jared also worked part time at Visions in Car Audio long enough to be introduced through friends there to Ngan. Eventually he decided to combine his love of anything loud and fast and joined Mom and Dad full time. Jared was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends and the shop was always full of them. He was quick and loved to make people laugh. Jared's charismatic personality allowed him to make friends everywhere (just like his Dad) - our reality show would have been called Everybody Loves Jared. He had a huge circle of friends who were proud to call Jared their friend. Jared's friends were a huge part of his life and are still considered part of our family. He could carry on an intelligent conversation with anyone, this was largely thanks to the opinions encouraged around the supper table growing up (which were often debated with his sisters). His interests were diverse, well researched, and always growing. If you needed to know everything about anything you just had to ask Jared. Jared was unique in every way and made sure everything he touched was customized (and brightly lit). He loved to do anything outdoors - snowmobiles, dirt bikes, quads, shooting, hockey, boating, snowboarding, and most of all driving (he had skills). He had all the gear and a pair (or three) of shoes for each. Jared also made sure each excursion was well captured. Jared's excitement was infectious and he crammed a lot of living into his time with us. His time was cut too short but he had traveled and seen a lot of places with plans to see much more. Jared left us while doing what he loved with the one he loved - riding a motorcycle to meet up with his family. We're sure he's busy up there making new friends and convincing them brighter colours and lights will make them louder and faster. In honour of Jared's love for anything you could ride, we invite you to bring your bike or custom ride to join the procession to the service. Starting at 12:00 noon we will line up at 81002 St. Peters Road, East Selkirk. Procession to start at 12:30 p.m. Help us make enough noise so Jared will hear us from Heaven. A celebration of Jared's life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Church, 6088 Hwy 9A. In lieu of flowers, please follow Jared's advice and give your loved ones a hug as you never know when it will be your last. • I miss you my cousin! Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks undone must stay that way I found that peace at close of day. If my parting has left a void then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah, yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I’ve savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me God wanted me now. He set me free. - Posted by: Tricia, Tim, Reese & Keelyn Wilkinson (Cousins) on: Jul 17, 2013

  • I was shocked to hear the passing of two such amazing people. I have known Jared for many years starting as Nicole's annoying younger brother to an awesome fun guy who seemed to know everything about anything mechanical. Jared always had a special energy about him and I know even in his passing when you think of him, you will still feel that energy, that light he brought into any room he walked into. I also had the pleasure of knowing the love of his life Nagan and what a wonderful woman he had found. They were so in love with each other. It is comforting to know that even in death they will be together looking down on all of us who's lives they have touched. Doug, Cheryl, Nicole, Dalyce, and the rest of the Youzwa family I am so sorry for your sudden loss. You raised a great son, had a wonderful brother and he was a positive big part of so many of his friends lives. My deepest sympathies are with you at this trying time. • Doug, Cheryl and family our hearts go out to you in our thoughts and prayers over the tragic loss of Jared and Ngan, your family is one of the most straight up nice and honest families we have ever dealt with. There are not many I can think of that make you feel at home when you walk into a business. Yours is one of them. You guys took the time to get to know the people you came across and make a lasting impression, this showed in that you remembered what we spoke of last time and the conversation was always building forward. Jared was just the same, I often found that a quick trip to the store would end up taking an hour because I would spend my time speaking with Jared getting tuned into LED light boards and all the other trick bike accessories he told me about. Strangers that make you feel like a friend right out of the gate is a rare quality but your whole family has that energy and truly Abby and I are heartbroken over your loss. - Posted by: Jeff and Abigail Boivin () on: Jul 16, 2013

  • To my aunty Cheryl, uncle Doug, Nicole, Dalyce, aunty Stephie, aunty Tracy, uncle Robert, the rest of my family back home, and to all friends of Jared and Ngan. I cannot explain to all of u how much i am sorry for not being there in this time of need and support. i am truly sorry for this great loss. every time i called Jared first thing u would hear is "wad up cuz" :D i can still hear it in my dreams, and little do people know he was my brother in heart and soul. I try and remember all the amazing things that we did together, and all the great talks and hangouts. life was perfect for me till the day i lost the best man i know and the greatest girl for him, the amazing wonderful and beautiful Ngan. I had the honor to have fun with them two weekends before i left for Afghanistan, and i must say the short time that Jared was shooting he sure knew his guns, lol more than a soldier would lol. and i will never ever forget ngan's smile and giggle that lite Jared's world every day and night. They were the perfect couple !!!!. Jared u backed me up 110% in my military career and i remember u picking me up from the airport on my last tour, u were extremely excited to hear my stories, but now i can't tell u the new stories. I loved u from day one my brother and i always will. u r my blood and i am damn proud to call u my cousin, brother, and best friend. U r my hero !! :D and Ngan i only met u a handful of times, but every time was special to my heart cause u made Jared the happiest man in the whole world. I love u both and u r always in my hearts and when i strap on my gear out here i'll remember u as i do this to honor u both :D xoxoxoxo - Posted by: Tyler (cousin) on: Jul 16, 2013

Jared and Ngan will be forever remembered by all of their friends with great love and admiration. • I remember Jared when you guys first opened up your shop, he was a little guy that was eager to show me the latest gadgets and gizmos that you had for accessories and parts. It was fun working with him on the shops logo and the ideas he tossed around. As the years progressed he took on the knowledge of the business and was always there to lend a hand and offer support to a fellow motorcyclist who enjoyed the hobby as much as he did. Jared was a good guy to ride with, always cautious and would look out for others when in need. Ride on my friend, into the winds on open roads. - Posted by: Brent Polson () on: Jul 15, 2013
