CLAUDETTE THERRIEN (nee COURCHAINE) It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claudette Therrien (Courchaine) at the age of 66 years on August 4, 2013. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and Auntie. She was a brave, stubborn, selfless, and generous woman who left her mark on her family and anyone who had ever met her. We are all better for knowing her. Claudette will be deeply missed by her husband Guy, daughter Michelle (Joel) Dueck, son Cory (Jaci Goddard), granddaughters Brittany and Stephanie Ness, Emelie Therrien-Hansen, and three step grandsons James, Alex, and Carson. She also leaves her brothers Louis (Jill), Crockett (Bev), Roland (Bev), Roger (Wendy), sister-in-law Esther Courchaine, her sisters Helen (Ray) Pfeil, Cora (Gerry) Schmall, Dolores (Daniel) Lebrun, and her brother-in-law Ray (Muriel) Therrien. She has left behind many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Claudette was predeceased by her mother Rita (nee Blais), father Basil, her sisters Irene and Emelie, and her brothers Marcel, Gerald, and Paul. We would like to thank all the medical teams who have taken care of her through her long battle with cancer. In keeping with Claudette's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass Celebrating Claudette's life will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., Winnipeg, MB. Family was most important to Claudette. She asked that that in lieu of spending money on flowers in her absence, you spend your time with your family. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J.   • To my mom you will never be forgotten all the life lessons you taught me which is many. I love you mom you will always be in my heart and above it with the tattoo that I have to always keep you close to my heart. I know that you will always be with us watching over and trying to make sure our decisions are right. I love you mom and your wedding ring will never leave my neck. I also know that my dad lost the love of his life and he has a heavy heart but knowing that you are not suffering anymore and I know he misses your time together and your Friday night meet up with your brothers and sisters.   • I have known Claudette for over 48 years and have kept in contact with her off and on. The last time I spoke to her was December 2012. I admired Claudette for her strength, courage and how devoted she was to her family. I will miss our once a year phone calls.   • Another one of my heroes gone and she was the most giving and such a great laugh and always so pleasant to see. Guy and Claudette lived in Vancouver and I was so lucky to visit them a few times and it was always so good and I bugged them as came from so little to where they lived in BC.
