Phyllis leaves to mourn her loving husband Alfred, children Michael, Josh and Leah Rose (Jason); sisters Mildred, Lorna (Claude), Eileen (Lawrence); brothers Ken (Colette), Alvin, Harold (Esther), Fred (Julia), Roy (Frieda); aunts Beatrice and Mariah; uncles Clifford and Gene Hourie, Hector Sumner, as well as nephews, nieces, relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Irene and Edwin Hourie, brothers Allan, Daniel, Marvin Hourie, and daughter Anita Beauchamp. Phyllis was a kind and gentle person, and during her spare time she would often do volunteer work. She loved life and loved being around family and friends. She especially loved her grandchildren and wished she could be around them often. She liked quilting and she was very good at doing crafts. She liked writing poems, liked to joke and tell little stories. One thing that people mention and remember is her contagious laughter. The Hourie family would like to express gratitude to the staff at MICU of the Health Sciences Centre and the family and friends for their kindness and support during this very difficult time. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. followed by a prayer service officiated by Father Ron McCullough at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 held at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg. Cremation and interment has been arranged at a later date at St. Helen's Anglican Cemetery in Fairford, Manitoba.

Mom, I love you so much and I still find myself looking in the streets for you. I love you so much and I'm so sorry I could not be there for your last days on this earth. Now you are gone to that spirit world and don't have to suffer any longer in this painful world. I love you and feel your presence still in my heart.
