Knowing Sam was truly an honour. He was a very special man that the world would be a better place if there were more like him. He had a way of making everyone feel special and was humbled by the respect that he was given. I learned a lot from you and I will carry those lessons forward. I love you Sam and I will miss you. - Posted by: Cindy Kendall (friend) on: Aug 11, 2013

Sam was a true gentleman and an excellent business man. He gave me the single best piece of investing advice. Thanks Sam. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Jerry Lupkowski (Account) on: Aug 08, 2013

We knew Mr. Baker for a number of years. I worked for him and his wife before and after she passed away. He was a caring and generous person. - Posted by: wayne & Eva Bell (Friend) on: Aug 07, 2013

I met Sam when I took over Richmond Shoe Store in Brandon in 1975. My father bought the building at 945 Rosser Ave. from Sam, and Sam never let us forget the great deal we got from him! I always knew when business was slow because Sam would come over to try and query me on our sales. I always enjoyed visiting with Sam and now regret I did not take the time to see him in Winnipeg. To me Sam typifies the guy who slid into the grave with a martini in one hand, a cigar in the other, and shouting "What a Ride". God bless you. - Posted by: BOB LAW (Shoe Retailer in Brandon) on: Aug 07, 2013
