Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT WILLIAM TIPPER September 20, 1924 August 13, 2013 Peacefully on August 13, 2013, Bob passed away at the age of 88. Bob was born in , AB on September 20, 1924. After serving as a pilot in the Canadian Air Force, he was transferred overseas to the British Naval Fleet Air Arm. Upon his return to Canada, he graduated with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta and took a position with the CNR. At the time of his retirement in 1986, he was the Regional Engineer of Administration. In 1952 Bob married Doris McGinitie, and they celebrated their 60th anniversary on September 15, 2012. They started their married life in Edmonton, spent time in Port Arthur and Saskatoon, and finally settled in Winnipeg in 1965. Bob is survived by his wife Doris, brother Hal (Maxine), sister-in-law Nola, children Bill (Christine), Brenda (Michael), and Diane (Les), and grandchildren Angela (Jonathan), Kelsey, Daniel, Alex, Brian, Paul, Dana, Caroline and Eric. Special thanks to the support workers who helped to keep him at home with Doris, and to all of those at Golden Door Geriatric Centre who made it a home away from home. Bob was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. A private interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens followed by a gathering of friends and family on Saturday, August 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Canad Inns Windsor Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society or a charity of your choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Dear Doris and Family, How sad to know that you have lost your beloved Bob. He has had a struggle these past many months, but has been sustained by a wonderful loving, supportive family.
