CHRISTOPHER (BUTCH)
Born: May 13, 1962
Date of Passing: Aug 14, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTOPHER (BUTCH) McKECHNIE May 13, 1962 - August 14, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend, Christopher "Butch" McKechnie at the young age of 51 years. He was predeceased by his mother Florence McKechnie. He is survived by his wife Tammy of 12 years, his children Clinton Lloy (Jackie), Amanda McKechnie (Ken), Christopher Steven McKechnie (Tina), Crystal Mosher and Brittany McKechnie. He also leaves behind to mourn his father Chris McKechnie, sisters Debbie and Colleen and brother Andrew. He was also a proud G-Dad to David, grandpa to Danica, Kyle, Sierra, Taylor and Brieah Shae. We will always remember that mischievous smile, caring heart and loving embrace he always gave us. He was always engaged in an activity whether it be with computers, cars or movies; and of course he loved to bunny hunt with the C.B. radio. He always gave himself without hesitation, being there through good times and bad. He continuously had good stories to tell; and he leaves us with so many memories that we will cherish forever. A private celebration of his life will be held for family and friends, on Sunday, August 18 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the McKechnie residence at 205 Mighton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the D'Arcys A.R.C. or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. 204-774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca

Grandpa I will always remember your loving smile and personality and everything you always did and tried to do for us. I'm so sorry I couldn't be there I had no idea anything that was going on and had no control on whether I could come or not. I will always love you and will never forget you grandpa. Much love, Sciera and your great-grandson Jaxx - Posted by: Sciera (Grandfather) on: Jul 30, 2019

it's hard for me to not only believe that I can't be there but that he's gone altogether. my whole life I have never had a friend as loyal or caring as butch. he spent so much time at my house growing up my dad thought we had adopted him. he was as much my brother as my own family. we had our issues that sometimes weren't always good, but we always got over it. my life without him in it will never be the same. I will miss you like no other my friend. you were a huge part of my life, thank you, and goodbye. - Posted by: bob case (friend) on: Aug 18, 2013

I met Butch back in 1984 while working at the Globe and Mail. He made working the strangest hrs. 6 days a week, enjoyable and humorous! Butch gave me my very first rose. No reason, just because. He had a way of turning something so simple, into something so memorable. Butch also introduced me to computers. The patience that man had! Butch you were and will remain my Knight in Shining Armor. My Guardian Angel through some of the darkness moments of my life. Luv you and will deeply miss you. - Posted by: Norma Oswald (Friend) on: Aug 18, 2013

butch and I met when I was 15 and he soon became a true friend for life...he would live with our family on and off many times over the years until he found the love of his life, tammy. if it wasn't for the love of butch and tammy I would never have had the wedding of my dreams in 2005. butch, there are no words that will ever express how much you will be missed. - Posted by: samantha-anne (forever freind) on: Aug 17, 2013
