WAYNE H. CURNEW
Date of Passing: Aug 19, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWAYNE H. CURNEW It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne H. Curnew of Winnipeg, MB on Monday, August 19, 2013 at age 61, following a lengthy illness. He leaves to mourn his wife Nancy of 37 years, his son Shawn, and his parents Con and Marie of Toronto, as well as sister Barbara, brother-in-law Rick, niece Darlene, and nephew Jason of Newfoundland, amongst other family and many friends. Wayne was born in Cornerbrook, NL, and lived his younger years in Toronto. While there, he met and married Nancy, with whom he moved to Winnipeg and lived until present. Wayne very much enjoyed a career as a computer programmer and systems analyst, amongst other jobs. His passion, however, lay in studies of the Bible: serving the Lord and being with the brethren of the Winnipeg Bible Students. He was a constant support to his family and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre (3030 Notre Dame Ave.), with interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. The family thanks the staff of St. Boniface Palliative Care for their wonderful assistance. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.

When he was in Toronto, there were four of us. Steve Merry (now in Vancouver) Darrell Morrison now residing in (Mississauga, ON.) & myself who now resides in Cambridge, ON. I was completely in shock when I just heard that he has passed away. We were all around 16 years old and used to enjoy each other's company every weekend and every chance we could get together. Wayne had a Brilliant mind and we used to discuss everything about life and why we are here. It sounds like he continued to be a Great Guy with his unique sense of humor and his broad sense of Life. I always wanted to know how he made out But never followed through with a search. I deeply regret that now. Rest in Peace my Friend, you will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Earl Larocque (Close friends until he left to go out west & lost contact with each other.) on: Oct 30, 2015

Wayne took a genuine interest in me as I was growing up and his sincerity meant a lot to me. His easy smile, caring questions and willingness to listen touched me deeply. My heart goes out to Nancy and Shawn. - Posted by: Marc Kuly () on: Aug 21, 2013

Bro Wayne always had a welcoming smile and a chuckle when greeting you. His empathy for the problems of others overflowed and his helpful attitude was based on the Lord's example. The first love was that of our Lord and his wife and family. We will miss him dearly. - Posted by: Jerry Nagy (Brother In Christ) on: Aug 21, 2013
