MARION KATHLEEN VOELLINGER (nee GIVEN) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and friend, Marion Voellinger, on Thursday, August 22, 2013 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her children, Elizabeth and George Jr; and, her grandchildren, Alasdair and Calum. Marion was predeceased by her husband, George, in 2004. She was born in Winnipeg on May 6, 1926, the daughter of William Henry and Beatrice Alice Given. She resided there until 2008 when she moved to Halifax. Before she married George, she worked for the London Life Insurance Company and Eaton's, taught school in Glenboro and lectured at United College. Subsequently, she worked for the Winnipeg School Division. She always enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, travelling and spending time with friends. A memorial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society in memory of Marion.
