OLGA ELJILISA MILLER (nee WOZNIAK) Peacefully on August 22, 2013, with her beloved husband Bill by her side, Olga passed away. Olga was the youngest daughter of Stephen and Annie Wozniak, born February 11, 1920 in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her parents, as well as sisters Marie Uhryniuk (Mike) and Rose Peterson (Oscar), and niece Audrey Horsman. She leaves to mourn her husband Bill, nephew Allan Peterson (Vicky), nephew Wayne Horsman, great-nephew Carl Horsman (Brenda), great-nieces Angie MacIntosh (Ron), Valerie Huesken (Jeff), Laura Taylor (Rob) and great-grandnieces and nephews, Holly Huesken, and Jack, Nadia, and Ava Taylor. Also mourning her loss are beloved cousins Elsie Forsythe (Jimmy), Violet Harrow and Albert Dwolinski. She will be sadly missed by the Miller family including brothers-in-law Bob (Shelagh) and Archie (Mary) and their families, Lee (Harvey) and family, John (Elizabeth) and family, A.J., Bill, and Rick (Laurie) and family. Olga was always considered and regarded as a dear aunt. Olga was raised on the family farm in Fisher Branch. Her family donated the acre of land where the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church now stands. With a love for education, she began her teaching career in Prawda, Manitoba and went on to teach at Principal Sparling, and Pinkham schools as well as other elementary schools in Winnipeg. In spite of teaching fulltime and taking care of her family, she was still able to earn B.A., B.Ed., and M.Ed. degrees. Fifty-five years ago she met the love of her life, Bill Miller. Saturday nights they could both be found socializing with their many friends. Over the years they enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the US. If anything defined Olga, it was the love and compassion she had for her family. She retired early to be the caregiver to her mother and eventually her sister Marie. She played a large role in helping her sister Rose to raise Audrey and Allan, and was always eager to babysit her many great-nieces and nephews. Throughout it all, her passion was gardening, her favourite flowers, geraniums. Many hours were spent tending to her beloved gardens that she would later enjoy viewing from her sunroom with Bill. Olga will be fondly remembered for her grace and poise, gifts from the garden, trips to the family farm, baking, ambrosia salad, teaching of multiplication at her kitchen table but above all, her love and dedication to family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment to follow. Thank you Aunt Olga for being so supportive and caring to each and everyone of us. The love you extended was nothing less than had we been your own children. Your impact on our lives will always be fondly remembered. Vechnaya Pamyat For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
