Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA LEE JOHNSON (nee HIEBERT) On August 22, 2013, Sandy passed away surrounded by family and friends after a sudden illness. She was born in Winnipeg on April 27, 1954 to loving parents, Joan and Earle Hiebert, and grew up with sister Brenda and brother Darrell (deceased). Sandy's memory will be treasured forever by husband Wray; daughters Sara, Ginnie, and Robyn; grandchildren Erik, Mia, and Reid, and many other close relatives and friends. She graduated from the St. Boniface School of Nursing in 1974, to work in pediatric nursing. She later helped manage her husband's chiropractic office and did bookkeeping. Her family was paramount, and she delighted in making gifts for people and spending time together, especially at the family cottage in Dunnottar, MB on Lake Winnipeg. Our thanks to the staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital ICU for their sensitive and caring assistance. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Sandy's memory may be made to Art City.

Sandra was only one year younger than me. I have many fond memories of them coming to our Grandma's house, to visit and play. Sandra was a person with a hearty laugh that made all others laugh. She Loved her Family with a Passion. She Loved being a Nurse. Then Loved being a Wife to the Man she loved with a passion. And when She became a Mom, she did that with a passion. My Sweet Cousin, it's now December 14/2013. I know this Christmas will be a real hard one for the Family you have left behind. As for you Sandra, I know you are with your brother Darrell and you will never be forgotten. I Love you and miss you and Darrell. Your cousin, Carla L Behm. - Posted by: Carla L Behm (Cousin) on: Dec 14, 2013

Dear Wray and Family I am deeply saddened to learn of Sandy's passing. This was a lady that was so bright and articulate and loved her family unconditionally. We had so many good times when we went on scrap booking trips away, laughing until the wee hours of the morning. During these times is where i learnt about each and every one of her family members. She spoke of all of you with such respect and love. Wray, Sara, Ginny, Robyn you were her entire world, then came the grandchildren and life at the Johnson's would never be the same. She was such a beautiful soul and we shared many meaningful discussions and then Sandy's sense of humor would make me love her all the more. She had a way with words that could match no other, and i guess her love of books helped. She was a fantastic crafter, and anyone who knew her would know this. her immaculate stitching in quilting and her beautiful work in her scrapbook pages were like works of art. She had dreams like all of us, and she encouraged everyone to go after them. Just know that when she was out in the world, her thoughts were always back home with her family. And to Joan and Earl i know your heart is breaking as well. she spoke of you with much love. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. - Posted by: tracy Ullmann (friend) on: Aug 31, 2013

I grew up across the street from the Hieberts and we played with Sandra, Brenda and Darrell. Mrs Hiebert was always a character with a sense of humor we all enjoyed. Although Sandra was my sister's age, we connected more in nursing school at St Boniface. during those 2 years we shared many laughs together. I regret after we graduated we lost touch and I never met her daughters, although the first few reunions Sandra attended and we always heard lovely stories of her husband and family. My sincere condolences for such an early and unexpected passing. Heather Williams (Murdoch). - Posted by: Heather Williams (Murdoch) (neighbor and nursing school buddy) on: Aug 29, 2013

Sandy and I trained together at St.Boniface School of Nursing, living in Residence on the same floor, " 2-New." Sandy was one of a wonderful group of friends that have kept in touch for the past 39 years. We supported each other through those 2 years, studying and partying together with Sandy always keeping us in laughter. I am so saddened to hear of her passing and do wish Wray, Sara, Ginnie, Robyn and grandchildren my most sincerest sympathies. - Posted by: Karen Zurba ( Gowriluk ) (St. Boniface School of R.N. We spent a lot of time playing in her yard and later on went to Europe together with Marg Menzies. We had a wonderful trip with many happy memories!
