HELENA CRAWFORD (nee BRAID) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother Helena Crawford on August 25, 2013. Mom died after a brief illness at Seven Oaks Hospital at the grand age of 90 years. Helena was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1964, her sisters Jean Smith of Lilyfield, Margaret Hawkinson of Winnipeg, brothers Gilbert Braid of Lilyfield and Bill Braid of Winnipeg. She is survived by her daughter Janet (Hughes) of Edmonton and her son Barry (Donna) of Winnipeg, grandchildren Jennifer, Stephen, Shawn and Stacey. Mom was born in Lilyfield and spent most of her adult life in the Interlake regions of Rockwood, Argyle and Stonewall. Her passions included sports, baking and enjoying time with her family. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lilyfield United Church with interment to follow at the Lilyfield Cemetery. We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Golden Door, mom's last official home and to the staff attending her during her brief stay at Seven Oaks Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Lilyfield United Church would be greatly appreciated.
