Mrs. Sheps and family: Please accept my deepest and sincerest condolences on the loss of your husband/father. Mr. Sheps was a wonderful person and I enjoyed working with him right up to his retirement. We always laughed and giggled together about the craziest things (his stories mostly) and I do miss that oh so much. Karen Brotzel - Posted by: Karen Brotzel (Co-worker) on: Sep 17, 2013

I remember Sam from Luxton days, and was glad to reconnect with him briefly at a school reunion a couple of years back. He was a kid that you'd not forget - he had a great sense of humour and "attitude" to spare. He had a terrific knack for being able to argue his way out of trouble with any teacher and it was clear he was headed for law school. My condolences to his family and friends - he will be missed. - Posted by: Suzanne Newman () on: Sep 09, 2013

I suppose I've known Sammy Sheps most of my life. I didn't know him well. North End Winnipeg Beach, Day Camp. Where ever I ran into him there was always a nod & a hello. I sort of knew he was brilliant for no other reason than he just was. A nice guy. He'll always be on my mind. - Posted by: Stephen & Candice Freed () on: Sep 09, 2013

I didn't know Sam well -- but Joanie and I were at Hebrew School and Kelvin together, and Sarah and I have done Fiddler together a few times. I do remember the party for Nathaniel Schipper's Bar Mitzvah. 1999 it was, a beautiful June night. A bunch of us were there in the Schipper-Cherniack backyard, chatting away under a starry sky. Sam and Joan were definitely there, and I remember thinking how much I love this place and these people, some of the finest people I know. I mourn Sam's passing and I send my deepest condolences to all the people who loved him. - Posted by: Nick Rice (acquaintance) on: Sep 08, 2013

I've known Sam mainly via his work, as he helped me through the rigmaroles of buying my first house and subsequent refinancing. I enjoyed coming down to his office, where we talked about other things too. His filing system often left me speechless -- in a good way of course! I'm happy he lived such a rich and accomplished life with his family, friends, and anyone else that crossed his path. - Posted by: Mark Szymanski (Acquaintance) on: Sep 08, 2013
