My name is Irène Guilbault and I was born November 22 but in 1955. My grandparents lived in Manitoba when they were young, we might be distant relatives. I hope I will bring such happiness in the life of my family as she did. Kind regards, Irène - Posted by: Irène Guilbault (Maybe distant) on: Oct 15, 2013

It's very difficult to lose our sweet sweet Tante. She was so dear to all of us. One of my fondest memories goes back to when she became my "roomy" while she lived with us in Burlington. Up until then, I hated my two single beds. I wanted a big girl bed like my big sister. But then, Tante came to live with us and all of a sudden I felt lucky to have those single beds. It meant that every night, I had special time with Tante all to myself. She would let me snuggle up with her in her bed and tell me bedtime stories. We had many giggle fests and tickle fights. I will never forget Tante and, while I will miss her terribly, I am comforted by the fact she is finally released from all her pain and is now with all our family waiting for her. Miss you lots Tante, love you more. - Posted by: Carol Amelio & Family (Niece ) on: Sep 11, 2013

Although I was still quite young, I vividly recall our trips to Burlington to visit with Aunt Irene and Aunt Simone's family. Very good memories. Although we did not see each other often, we always connected like we were regular everyday guests. She made us feel so at home. She treated my children to a great visit and a lunch only a few years ago and they all loved her too. Rest in peace Auntie. - Posted by: Ron Guilbault and Family (Nephew) on: Sep 11, 2013

My earliest memories of Aunty Irene were the two of us taking the train in St. Boniface (La Vieille Gare) to spend weekends in Woodridge, MB. I loved those weekends! Always great food to eat and trouble to get into at Romanovsky's store :) God speed, Aunty. - Posted by: Esther Jarrett (Niece) on: Sep 09, 2013

I will always remember the excitement around our house when "Tante" was coming to visit. She made each of us feel so loved and special and I remember that wherever we sat, be it at dinner, in the car, or on a park bench, it was always "and Tante in the middle!" I will greatly miss staying the weekend after business trips in Toronto to visit with her - her memory was still very sharp and I loved hearing stories about the Guilbault clan. I am comforted to know that she is resting peacefully in heaven with family and friends who love her and free of her physical pain here on earth. Love you tons, my dear Tante! Will miss you very very much. - Posted by: Kathy Yetzer (Niece) on: Sep 09, 2013

Aunt Irene was a very special lady. I have so many fond memories of her beautiful smile, positive attitude and wonderful cooking. I can't say I directly learned to cook from her but I know that my love for cooking has come from the fantastic lovely meals she prepared for us when we came to visit. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and was genuinely interested in all the news about things going on in our lives. I know she'll be serving the Lord some great meals!!! - Posted by: Dave Guilbault & Family (Nephew) on: Sep 09, 2013

I remember the special occasions visiting my aunt in Winnipeg as a young boy. She was generous with her smiles as I recall and her eyes could light up a room. What a classy lady! She lived with style and grace. She had it all. Sweet memories will linger forever, time cannot change that. - Posted by: Marvin Guilbault (Nephew) on: Sep 07, 2013

Aunt Irene was so important in my life that I named her Godmother to my only child Todd. When she lived and worked in Niagara Falls, she taught me the fine art of shopping for nice things. We shared many happy shopping trips which I will remember fondly. I will deeply miss her and wish her eternal happiness and peace. Love, Doris - Posted by: Doris Bugera (Niece) on: Sep 07, 2013
