GARY CASEY
Born: Jan 19, 1950
Date of Passing: Sep 04, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGARY CASEY January 19, 1950 - September 4, 2013 With deep sadness, we announce the loss of a father and a friend, Gary Casey. He passed away on September 4 at the Health Sciences Centre. Gary is survived by his children, Dean, Christina, Cynthia, and Jared. He also leaves his parents, Theresa and Joseph Arsenault ,of Cobourg, brother Brian, of Ottawa, sister Lynda of Cobourg, sister Shannon, of Calgary, along with several nieces and nephews. Gary was born on January 19, 1950 in Summerside, PEI. From an early age, he was a talented hockey player. During his teenage years, the family moved to Manitoba. Gary married Kathy in 1977 and spent the next 20 years in Portage la Prairie. He was a devoted father to his four young children. They were the apple of his eye. Gary enjoyed chatting over coffee with his friends and helping people at his gas station. He loved everything about hockey, whether it was playing the game, watching the Portage Terriers and the Jets, refereeing or cheering Dean on at his games. He was a very hard worker and he could fix almost anything. His specialty was cars and home renovations. When Gary moved to Winnipeg, his gift for helping expanded. He spent a great deal of time reaching out to others, especially the less fortunate. In recent years, Gary's faith in God was a source of strength as he faced many challenges. He is now at peace. In accordance with Gary's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family time of remembrance will follow. Special thanks to the staff on GA4 and GD5 of the Health Sciences Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary's memory to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3.
