SHIRLEY LORRAINE MCGREGOR Shirley Lorraine McGregor passed away at the Grace Hospital on Friday, September 13, 2013, with her loving family by her side. Shirley was born on September 20, 1924 in Harris, SK, the youngest of five children. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, by her parents Mandy (Mads) and Edna Madson, brother Jack, sister Bernice Rayment, brothers-in-law Charles Rayment and Bill MacEwing. Shirley is survived by her daughter Sandra (Randy), son John (Lorie), sisters Audrey Madson, and Marguerite MacEwing, sister-in-law Shirley Morgan of Burnaby, BC as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will sadly missed by her three grandsons Michael, Matthew and Jared. Shirley was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was lovingly known as Grams. She received her early education in Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy and continued her studies at Angus Business College in Winnipeg. She worked in various office positions until her marriage to Walter, the love of her life, in December 1954. She was an active member in the Alpha Iota Business Sorority. Shirl and her family were active members of the Winnipeg Goldeyes Trailer Club. She loved camping and travelled throughout Canada and the US. She enjoyed shopping, friendships, the Blue Bombers and bowling. She was an active seamstress and loved crafts and sewing. She also loved to take many pictures. Shirley's ties to her family her were very strong. She found the greatest joy in entertaining, and being with her children and grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of the Third floor Grace Hospital, and the staff of Oakview Place. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Maranatha Evangelical Church at 910 Sturgeon Road. Services to terminate at the church. A private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rehab Centre for Children, 529 Wellington Cres., or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Arrangements were made through Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.

  • Well Mum we all miss you. We have many happy memories of you. But you left us to soon you were one week short of your 90th birthday. Mum there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not thinking of all our family togethers we had. All of our Soriety meetings we went to. I remember when summertime came Mum. I would come over to help you plant your flowers on the balcony, we would make a day of it. I'd stay for lunch. Very enjoyable day.
