Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryABRAHAM ALAN (AL) GROENING June 24, 1963 - September 2, 2013 Al passed away on September 2, 2013 at the too young age of 50. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 24, 1963, but lived most of his life in British Columbia, settling in Victoria, a city he loved and called home. He is survived by his two children Andrew and Erica, siblings Pat (Ike), Ken (Gwen), Geraldine (Peter), Linda and Nancy (Joe), nieces and nephews in British Columbia, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Manitoba. Al was predeceased by his mother Grace Pederson, sister Phyllis, and nephews Kenneth and Chris. Al battled heart disease surviving many scares. Despite his disease he lived life on his own terms. His work ethic was also one of his strongest traits. Al's interests included golf, cards, sports especially hockey, playing pool, and generally having fun. He especially enjoyed cooking and could turn the simplest ingredients into a gourmet meal. Al had a great sense of humour and loved to make people laugh with his jokes and pranks. He enjoyed receiving pictures and video from family and friends and held on to things of sentimental value. We will forever remember his boyish laugh, his joking nature, and his forgiving heart. In compliance to Al's wishes, some of his ashes will be buried in the Menisino Manitoba cemetery with his Mother Grace who he adored. Rest in peace, dear brother, your memory will live on.

I did not know Abraham but wish to offer sincere condolences. I too battle heart disease and wake up every day thankful for another one. I also appreciate that the scriptures promise that those who have passed away will come to life again. John 5:28,29 promises that all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. What a wonderful promise we can all look forward to. - Posted by: Someone who cares () on: Sep 19, 2013
