Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY K. PALIDWOR February 10, 1923 - September 17, 2013 Peacefully with family by his side at Concordia Hospital. Harry was born in Brooklands, Winnipeg and moved with his family to a farm near Oak Bank, MB. Aside from briefly residing in Winnipeg early in his marriage, he lived and farmed in the Oak Bank area. Harry was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Katherine, siblings John, Mary, Bill (Lena), Nettie (Michael) Chabluk, Mike, and Nick. Also predeceased by son David and daughter Karen, sons-in-law, Len Burwash and Adam Salamandyk, and daughter-in-law Florence Hallett. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jocelyn, sister Olive Sellen (Bud), sons Gerald (Doreen), Bill Hallett, daughters Joan and Carla (David), grandchildren Tara (Jay), Kelly, Melissa, Nicole, and Cassie and great-grandchildren Mia and Dante and numerous nephews and nieces. Dad spent 90 years living and loving life with family and friends as it should be done. After his duty in the air force, he used his training as an aircraft mechanic during his working career and in tending his grain farm in Oak Bank. For many years Dad and Mom enjoyed wintering in Yuma, AZ during their retirement. Music played a big role in Dad's life. Both Mom and Dad loved to host gatherings where friends were entertained by the duo of Jack Lillies on fiddle and Dad on guitar. Dad was still yodelling at his 90th birthday celebration. These and many other evenings of song and dance with his cousins will always be remembered fondly as a highlight in all our lives. Dad / Harry will be fondly remembered as a kind, patient, gentle, caring and unselfish man and will be missed by all of us and especially his faithful Border-Collie sidekick Slider. The family would like to thank all those involved in Dad's healthcare. Special mention must be made to Vernie Chapko and Kelly Lynn Bekar. Thank you to friends and family reaching out to us at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Harry's memory to the Immaculate Conception Church in Cooks Creek, MB or a charity of one's choice. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24 at the Immaculate Conception Church and Grotto in Cooks Creek, MB, Father Taras Kowch officiating. Saddened to hear of the passing of your loved one. The Palidwor family has and will always be like family to me and still treat me like their family. Although I did not see Mr. Palidwor or the rest of the family often, we always picked up where we left off. I still remember Harry sitting on his chair watching NHL hockey games! Rest in Peace.
