CECIL EARL MEYERS (POPEYE CHIEF) January 16, 1937-September 17, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father Cecil; he was born in St. Peters Reserve, Selkirk, Manitoba. Cecil lived most of his life with his family in Winnipeg. He is preceded by his wife of 52 years, our mother Marion, who passed away June 3, 2012. Cecil served in the military from 1951 to 1953. Cecil was preceded by his mother and father, Jane and Alex Chief; his brothers Joe, Thomas, Patrick, William, Frank, and Roy; his sisters Mabel, Mary Ann, Sophie, Irene, and Shirley. He leaves behind his daughters Marilyn, Rhonda, Mearle, and Mary Ann; his sons Eddy, David, and Curtis; and his Grand Children Lance, Greg, Kevin, Kyle, Melissa, Mearle, David Jr., Reberta, Myleen, Teekca, Robin, Selena, Kirsty, Kayla, Valerie and Kyle; his great-grandchildren Duval and Marley. Wake services will held on Sunday 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue. The funeral service will follow on Monday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Brookside Cemetery
