ARMANDE GORZEN (nee JULIE RICHARD) 1933 - 2013 Peacefully at the Grace Hospital on September 17, 2013 mom passed away, with her sister by her side. Julie will be deeply missed by her daughter Dianne (Brian), granddaughter Michelle, and dear sister Lorraine as well as her niece Gina (Brian), along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Julie was predeceased by her beloved husband Henry of 53 years, parents Louis and Jeanne Richard, sister Yvette, niece Lisa, brothers-in-law Dave, Peter and John Gorzen, Bruno Iwuc, and John Paulicelli, as well as sisters-in-law Anne, Jean and Hazel. Julie was born in Winnipeg on November 16, 1933. She worked briefly until meeting Henry in the early 1950's at the Normandy Dance Hall, which became their favourite hangout. Julie and Henry, the love of her life, were married on April 18, 1953. A year later their daughter Dianne was born, at which time she left the working world to devote her time to her home and family. Julie was a very kind, thoughtful and generous person, always thinking of others before herself. Over the years Julie and Henry made a lot of friends, opening up their home to many special gatherings. Mom was an excellent cook, baker and hostess. She loved to entertain. Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling to various places, with Hawaii being their favourite. In 1991 her precious granddaughter Michelle arrived, which she lovingly referred to as "Pumpkin". Julie will be sadly missed by all. We would like to thank Dr. Joshua, Dr. George, and the staff on 3-south at the Grace Hospital for the excellent care provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society. Funeral services will be held on September 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. • My aunt Julie was the kindest, mildest person I knew. I have fond memories of her; she was like a mother to me as I lost mine, (her sister), at the age of 11. She made the heartache of losing my mother at a young age a little less by giving my sister and I a little fun in our lives ..taking us to movies, baking cookies together, and most of all hugs and kisses goodnight that we were missing from our mother. I will miss her terribly...rest in peace my dear aunt ...Love you: your niece Gina - Posted by: Gina Paradis (niece) on: Sep 21, 2013
