DONALD HARPER December 26, 1933 - September 20, 2013 Don passed away peacefully with family at his side. Predeceased by his wonderful son David, Don is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Shirley. He also leaves behind his sons Wade (Lori), James (Tracy), daughter Susan (Paul) and son Darren (Anissa). Grandchildren; Lindsay (Ivan), Cara, Cortney, Nicole, Colton, Ayla, Jake and Aniko. Great-grand-children; Madden and Avery. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Jean, he leaves his sister Prim-Rose and brother David (Joan), as well as a long list of nephews, nieces and in-laws. Our Dad was very proud of his 40-year aviation career. Earning one of Canada's first M Licenses, he was certified on over 80 different aircraft. Don was one of Canada's top aviation engineers specializing on the Britannia, DC3 and DC8 aircrafts. Later as VP of Engineering & Maintenance at Worldways based in Toronto, he earned the first Certified Maintenance Organization recognized by Transport Canada. Dad loved his Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets and he would watch the Blue Jays 160 times a year...he had a big family, so he had to miss a couple games. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Don Harper's Giving Page on the Lupus Canada website. A Celebration of Life will be planned by the Family in the coming months.
