GUDLAUG ADALHEIDUR (ALLIE) HOWARDSON It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Allie Howardson on September 19, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents; Jon and Thora, sister; Gudrun, brothers; Mundi, Ronald, Norman, and another brother in infancy. Allie will be missed and remembered by her daughter Myrna Dobson and granddaughters; Lindsay (Scott) and Kristin. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a special cousin and good friend; Lynn Saunders. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Grace General Hospital 3 North for their care and compassion during Allie's final days. Allie was born in Lundar, MB and grew up in the Lundar and Clarkleigh districts. At a young age, she enlisted in the army, proudly serving as a driver in the Second World War and for the Canadian Red Cross. Allie returned to Winnipeg to be closer to her family and went on to study hairdressing. She opened her own salon in St. James which she operated for a number of years making some lifelong friends along the way. Mom's greatest joys in life were her family and spending time at her cottage in Sandy Hook. She was a dedicated fan of the CFL and kept her schedule handy so as not to miss any of the games broadcast on T.V. or radio. Honouring Allie's wishes, no formal service will be held. A private gathering to inter her ashes will take place at a later date. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Goda Nott Amma
