MARGARET SHEARER LITZ March 7, 1927 - September 24, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother. She is survived by all her children (Alison Chadsey, Lenore Bitze, Karen Davidson, Darlene Litz and Gord Litz) as well as by her nine grandchildren (Lori, Ryan, Jonathan, Cheryl, Kristin, Brittany, Jared, Michael and Rachel). She will be missed most of all by Gordon, her husband of 65 years. Margaret was dad's first love and remained the love of his life. Born in Winnipeg to Margaret and William Sutherland, Margaret was the fourth of five children and their last surviving child. Gordon and Margaret were faithful members of Bethany Baptist Church (later Portage Avenue Baptist) for many years until they moved to Abbotsford in 1988. Margaret often worked in the church nursery caring for infants and regularly helped in the kitchen with the church's social functions. She put her children and husband first and all her labours and special kindnesses at home are remembered fondly. She loved her grandchildren very much and treated them all with great care and generosity. For the past four years Margaret resided at Maplewood House and we'd like to thank all the staff for their efforts on mom's behalf. Lenore has been mom's companion and caregiver for many years and did everything possible to make mom happy and comfortable. Her dedication never wavered. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margaret's name to the Alzheimer Society of BC. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30 at Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church, 2950 Blue Jay St. in Abbotsford.
