Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA MYERS (nee HAAK) August 10, 1940 - September 28, 2013 Our dear Barbara passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa on Saturday, September 28. Barbara was born and raised in Winnipeg, graduating from Nelson McIntyre Collegiate in Norwood. She then went to work for Trans Canada Airlines, first in the office and then as a stewardess, which brought her into contact with the love of her life, Bob, a Saskatchewan Roughrider. After a whirlwind romance and upon her marriage to Bob in 1963, she left the airline to become a travel agent, a career at which she excelled until her retirement. Barbara and Bob travelled the world together. She was happiest when out of doors; jogging, golfing, gardening, swimming or just sitting in the sun. Barbara kept very fit, working out regularly, completing a Triathlon at the age of 69. A classy lady who dressed beautifully and always looked like a million dollars, she looked young and beautiful until the day she died. Barbara enjoyed a large circle of friends who will miss her kind and generous heart. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and will be missed so much by her family: husband Bob, daughter Marcia, son-in-law Mark, granddaughter Sloane, step-grandsons William and Zachary, sister Beverley, brothers-in-law John and Jim. A special Thank-You, goes out to all the staff at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa for their kind care Barbara received during her stay. Barbara loved animals and was a generous and caring advocate to those in need. In lieu of flowers, donations to Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary or the Humane Society in Barbara's memory would please her. To honour Barbara's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, ON on Thursday, October 3, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at The Oshawa Golf & Curling Club, 160 Alexandra Street, Oshawa, ON on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Barb and I met at Yvonne's Esthetics, she was a very loyal client to our spa. Our friendship grew with many wonderful conversations throughout the years, we shared many special memories and moments in our life that were important. Barb always spoke very highly of her family and how special they all were to her, especially her granddaughter who brought so much love to her life!
