GEORGE WILLIAM WALKER On Monday, September 30, 2013 at the age of 83, George peacefully passed away at the Dauphin Hospital. Left to cherish in his memory are his four children, Dawn (Mike) of Dugald, MB, Ron (Kim) of Matlock, MB, Jill (Edward) and Carolyn of Winnipeg, MB as well as five grandchildren Adam, Stephanie, Christian, Andrew, and Jessica. He also leaves to mourn his passing one sister Audrey (Cecil) Orr of Sifton, MB and one aunt Inez Cheney of Trail, BC. George was predeceased by his parents George and Lydia Walker. George had a full life working as a teacher and a spokes person for many years until he retired and traveled to Arizona as a winter snowbird. He loved Arizona and its warm air. In 2008 he could no longer drive to Arizona and missed it very much, especially Maxine Endres of Aurora, Colorado. He played golf, loved to curl (was the president of the Granite Curling Club for two years), played pool and was an avid card player even in his later years. A memorial service will be held at the Dauphin First United Church in Dauphin, MB on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Larry McPhail officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
