EMILIE TOEWS Emilie Toews, our beloved Mother, Oma, left us September 27, 2013 to join her parents, siblings and friends in God's eternal peace and rest. Emilie's life journey passed from Russia to Germany and to Canada in 1951. With her supporting sister Elisabeth, she laboured diligently to build a meaningful, enriching life for daughters Monica and Renate. While she toiled in the garment industry, Mom ensured an excellent education and spiritual growth for us at St. Mary's Academy. A tireless, generous spirit, Mom gave freely of her energies and giftedness to family, friends and her church. We are very grateful to all staff for the good care Mom received in St. John's at Holy Family Nursing Home. Our special thanks to Biljana, Maria, Diana and Joyce. Emilie is remembered with love, admiration and profound gratitude as a cherished mother of Monica Midgley and Renate Sanderson (Peter); devoted Oma to Paul Andrew, Petra (Paul S), Hope and Sarah; adoring Great-Oma to Naomi and Katrina S. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 30 at St. Joseph's Church where she was a dedicated member for 60 years; Fr. Bo Wardzinski presided. To our delight, hundreds of Canada geese soared into the blue sky above our gathering at Mom's final resting place.
