Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ELIZABETH DEWAR December 27, 1921 October 7, 2013 Peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Victoria General Hospital. Mary will be greatly missed by her loving husband Thomas of 66 years, her daughter Lorraine (Ray) Zacharias, her son David (Janis), grandchildren Sharon, Daniel, Trisha and great-granddaughter Sydney. Mary is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Clark, Judy Tanner, Mina (Art) Blackall, Diane Tessaro, Lenore Parr, Linda Parr and brothers John, Larry and Jim (Jean). Mary was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Lizzie Crouch, her sisters Margaret Witala and Grace Bailey, brothers Ron, David and Bob and granddaughter Krystin. Mary met Tom while in high school in 1936, five years later Tom was deployed to Hong Kong. Tom and Mary started dating on Tom's return in 1945. They married in 1947 and built their lives around their children, Lorraine and David. They bought a cottage at Grand Beach where they spent many summers. After selling the cottage, Mary and Tom broadened their travels to include Bus Tours, Cruises, trips to Las Vegas and Mary's favourite destination Hawaii. Mary and Tom were active members of the Fort Gary Legion Branch #90. In June of 1955, Mary joined the Ladies Auxiliary where she served as the secretary and treasurer. Mary was an active bingo player, bowler and curler and made many good friends while enjoying these activities. Mary and Tom were also season ticket holders for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Mary was always sincere, had a big heart and smile and was always willing to stop and say hello. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. Family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. In honouring with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Though we did not see each other often, May was often in my thoughts. Anytime we talked it was like we had just talked the day before. I will miss you, dear sister.
