LAVON WILL-MANCHESTER On Friday, October 4, 2013 Lavon Will went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 1, 1941 in Trail, BC. She left home at 18 and went to St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Victoria. Her parents were Fred and Lenore Bridger of Kimberly, BC. She enjoyed a long career in nursing at the old and new Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg and retired as the nurse at the CN Shops in Transcona. She had a great love for her dog Benji, gardening, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed the time she spent working at The Upper Room Mission in Vernon, BC. She found great peace with God and her church. Lavon will be greatly missed by her sisters Joan Aune and Claudia Heide; her children Boyd Manchester, wife Tammy, grandchildren Allison and Coletan; Rod Manchester, grandchildren Lane and Morgan; Heidi and Tim Hellston. A big thank you goes out to Claudia and Rod Heide for making this time of sorrow so much easier, and also to her friends at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Upper Room Mission, 3403-27th Ave., Vernon, BC, V1T 1S2 or CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9.

  • Dear Boyd, Rob and Heidi and families. We were sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. We always will remember the great conversations we had with her while we had coffee on your front steps on Widlake while the dogs and kids played.
