RENATE BLOBEL May 16, 1944 October 9, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Renate Blobel announces her passing. Renate is survived by her loving husband Adolf (Ed); dear siblings, Margaret (Peter) Damnjanovic; Wally (Frieda) Jack; Karl (Andrea) Jaek, and Lily (Ken) Foubert; brothers-in-law Eric (Gladys) Blobel and Henry Blobel; several cherished nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Lydia and Gustav, dear sister Erna and sister-in-law Pat. In her younger years and until her untimely passing, Renate was a class act, whose courage and strength sustained her during her valiant struggle with Cancer. She worked for many years as a proud employee for the Government where she was valued by all. As many can attest, Renate was full of life, and embraced new adventures such as travelling in their sports car out west, down south in the winter, and embarking on a number of girls only' trips. Her family was her pride and joy and she was always generous with her time, her advice and loving support. We consider ourselves fortunate to have had such a loving, beautiful and kind wife, sister, aunt, mentor, and friend. Her keen sense of style and ability to organize anything, along with her tenacity and humbleness, set the bar for making each event a memorable one. In compliance with Renate's wishes, a private family gathering will be held at her Interment. We extend a special thank-you to the care teams at CancerCare Manitoba and RR6 at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassion in assisting Renate throughout this difficult period and also to her many dear family members and friends who made every day a brighter one. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may choose to donate to a charity of choice, or to take a moment to share a special memory of Renate. We have lost a kind and gentle soul, one with a great smile and a lot of vigor. "We love you Renate, miss you dearly and will cherish your memories."
