Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE JAMES October 28, 1936 - October 11, 2013 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Anne James on October 11, 2013 at her residence, with her family by her side. She was predeceased by parents John and Julia Shack and brothers George and John Shack. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years Ken, son Greg (Kym), daughter Sheryl, granddaughters Ashley and Breanne and brother David Shack. She will be missed by her niece and nephews and their families, sister-in-law Gertie and many cousins, aunts, friends and her best friend Marge. Anne grew up in Ladywood, MB and worked for the Department of Family Medicine for many years. Anne was very active, always busy in the kitchen making perogies (the Best!), borscht and pickling everything. She loved going to the cabin and going fishing and blueberry picking. She enjoyed her gardening in her backyard and gambling trips with the girls. She spent many years soaking up the sun in Puerto Vallarta and made many friends there. Special thanks to Dr. Rigatto and the Seven Oaks PD unit for their kind caring of mom over the past ten years. There will be a Celebration of her life on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day St. in Transcona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's memory to The Kidney Foundation of Manitoba or charity of one's choice. We all love you and will miss you mom! To the James family, this is for the most amazing woman i/we have ever known. Someone so down to earth, someone you felt so comfortable with, and so very helpful in every way. I/we will miss you tremendously. You will always be in our hearts and missed so, so much. Love Barb & Al - Posted by: barb and al wsiaki (friend) on: Oct 17, 2013

Hello Sheryl, Ken, Greg and Family. So sorry to hear of Anne's passing. Just wanted to share a story about Anne and just how thoughtful and kind she was. On one of my surprise visits from T.O. I planned to take the James Gang out for dinner but the next thing I knew, Anne was preparing a pasta dinner. I didn't eat meat and was prepared to pick it out but before I could fix myself a drink, Anne had prepared another pasta sauce with only veggies. Also, when I would go home she always packed a few of her famous perogees. I truly enjoyed our time together especially in Tombstone where we celebrated Anne's birthday at Big Nose Kates. Our thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time. - Posted by: Susan and Matt Wunder (Friends) on: Oct 17, 2013

Rob remembers Anne from his first days living in Transcona. Anne was always a kind and generous person, and always ready to go out of her way to help others. She was also a bundle of energy, whether that was outside picking blueberries and other fruits or vegetables,or in her kitchen making her wonderful perogies or entertaining company. Family and friends were really important to her. She will be missed by all. - Posted by: Rob Glaister and Donna Chan (Friend ) on: Oct 15, 2013

Deepest sympathy to all the family. I worked with Anne at FMC many years ago. I always found her to be kind, thoughtful and efficient. She was a joy to work with. I admired her greatly. May she rest now. Diana Laliberte - Posted by: Diana Laliberte (co-worker fromFMC) on: Oct 15, 2013
