LYLE NELSON COONTZ May 5, 1930 October 13, 2013 Unexpectedly at the Concordia Hospital on Sunday, October 13, Lyle Nelson Coontz, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away. Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Olivia, their children: Blair and Dolly Coontz and their children Shelby and Cash; Kevin and Tracy Coontz and their children Aaron, Bailey, Jeremy (Dominique) and Tyler; Toni Ann and Phillip Dobson and their son Quin; April and Warren Borgford and their sons Austin and Chase; and his God-son Kenneth Kolton and Darlene; two sisters Vivian Clark of Brandon and Lois Green of B.C. and their families; and a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Lyle was born in San Bernardino, California U.S.A to Nelson Coontz and Pearl Blakeman. When he was six weeks old, his family returned to Canada to the Shoal Lake/Strathclair area where he grew up and attended school. After the war the family moved to Winnipeg on Mulvey Avenue and here he completed his schooling at Earl Grey and Kelvin Schools. He began his career with N.C.R as a Field Engineer on January 4, 1954 and worked there for 37 years until his retirement. He was fond of woodworking and produced many fine pieces which his children will always treasure. He also enjoyed camping and travelling, golfing and curling. He was a member and past president of the Rossmere over 60 Club. During the last two years he and Olivia have resided at Devonshire II where they have made many new and lasting friends. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lyle's memory to CNIB or to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013.
