GEORGE VLAHAKOS George Vlahakos, 37 of Winnipeg, Manitoba, due to a courageous battle with stomach cancer, has passed away peacefully with his wife Jennifer, cousins Billy and Tina and mother-in-law Mary by his side at St. Boniface Hospital in the Palliative Care unit at 10:22 pm Monday, October 14, 2013. George had a passion for his family and friends, his bangle cat Rico and yorkie/chihuahua puppy Jackson. George enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, going to the movies and dinner with his wife, but most of all spending time with family. On George's spare time he had a love for sleeping in, playing video games, dining at his uncle Gus' restaurant, barbeques and card games at cousin Billy's (Tina), taking care of his Durango and just being a go-with-the-flow kind of guy. George is survived by his wife Jennifer, mother Aliki, sister Gene, cousins Billy (Tina), Angie (John), uncle Gus (Eileen), along with many other relatives including his many extended family of in-laws. He was predeceased by his father Peter, baby brother George, older brother Jimmy and second cousin Daylan Damianakos, as well as many other close relatives. They will now take care of you Georgie. We will be together soon. We all love you very much and instead of mourning your death, we wish to celebrate your life. The family would like to thank the staff at the Palliative Care unit of St. Boniface Hospital along with the staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. Viewing will take place one half hour prior to service. Please join us to celebrate George's life at the reception directly after the service followed by the interment at Brookside Cemetery.
