Date of Passing: Oct 13, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEVERLY S. KAMMINGA (formerly GIFFORD) (nee PAYNE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverly Kamminga in the early hours of October 13, 2013. She will remain in the hearts of her daughter Gayle Gifford (Damian Rakowski, Marek, Leah and Deryn) and son, Neil Gifford (Hannah). She also leaves her siblings Gordon Payne (Heather), Marilyn Preston (Scott), Diane Johnson (Ken), Alan Payne and Donald Strom (Jean). She is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Bev was predeceased by her husband, George, and her parents, Wally and Sybil Payne. Born in Winnipeg in 1947, mom grew up in Silver Heights. She raised her daughter, Gayle, and son, Neil in Charleswood, spending some of her happiest times as a stay at home mom. When the children were older she went to work at Investors Group, making many good friends during her 20 years there. Words cannot express the gratitude we have for all that our mother has done for us. She was gentle and kind; raising us with high moral values and an appreciation for good manners. Despite some adversity, mom always made sure we had plenty of fun, and knew that we were loved. Family was everything to her. Mom loved Sunday dinners, holidays, and spending time with her children, siblings and extended family. The recent arrival of her grandbabies brought much pleasure, she delighted in spending time with them whenever possible. Mom was witty, principled and always spoke the truth. She loved to laugh, garden, have coffee with the girls and go on shopping trips to Grand Forks. An eternal optimist, mom's glass was always half full, right to the end. She made friends easily, and will be missed by many. A Celebration of Mom's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20 at the St. Boniface Golf Club, 100 Youville St. We are forever grateful for the support and comfort received from family and friends at this sad time. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to mom's nurse, Judwiga, and to the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit - 8A. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation Palliative Care Endowment Fund. ~Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul.~

Just wanted to let everyone know we are thinking of you. We know how close your family is. Growing up, it was always so apparent how much Ash loved her Aunties and how strong the sisterly bond was for Dido. Please know that we are thinking of your whole family and sending our love.
