ROY WILLIAM GAIR It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father and grandfather Roy, on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the age of 84 years. Roy is survived by his children Brenda Bergeron (Real), Sheila Gair, and Wayne Gair (Janice); also by the joys of his life his grandchildren Joanne (Ryan), Jeff (Sarah), Cody, Colton, Carly, Jenna, and great-granddaughter Emily. As well, left to mourn are sisters-in-law Margaret, Pat, Eleanor; many nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Kay in 2003; parents Francis and Bud; brother Grant; sister Margaret; nephew Kenny; and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Dad had a wonderful sense of humour and everyone that met him enjoyed his company. He was a salesman and over the years sold many different products travelling from Thunder Bay to Saskatchewan. The family wishes to give special thanks to The Metropolitan Kiwanis Court for going above and beyond caring for Dad. A very special thanks to all the staff at Oakview Extendicare for their kindness and care. We also want to thank Dad's good friend Ron Latter for being there for him right up to the very end, and Dave and Lyle for their frequent visits. On Thursday, October 24, 2013, Roy's Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Crestview United Church, 316 Hamilton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y1 (where Mom and Dad adopted their precious Molly from). Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • To the Gair family...please forgive me for not wishing you my most heartfelt condolences much sooner. I used to kibitz with Roy for a long time, and had always got along with him. He had a singular humor and rapport with his clients, and had a heart of gold. To his family and friends, my most sincere sympathies..... - Posted by: Kevin Wilson (former co-worker) on: Mar 20, 2014

  • We were saddened to read of Roy's passing. Though we have not been in contact for some time we have many fond memories of Roy. He had a great sense of humor and was most personable and gregarious. He was certainly one of our familiy's favorite relatives and was always welcome wherever he went. We always looked forward to his Xmas cards and any news about him and Kay. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. Dave and Mary Jane Gair - Posted by: David Gair (Cousin) on: Oct 25, 2013

  • Roy was my next door neighbour for several years. He always had a smile and a story to tell. His little dog Becky was the "terror" of the hill, but would turn and run if you looked at her the wrong way. His cat Molly loved to lay in the hallway to check out the comings & goings of the neighbours...and always appreciated a friendly pat and hello My deepest sympathy to you and your family at this most difficult time - Posted by: Kerry Kennedy (Former next door neighbor) on: Oct 22, 2013
