MARGARET ROBBIE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Robbie (nee Adamson) on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Riverview Health Centre. Margaret was born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland on August 5, 1928. She met and married the love of her life, Douglas, on March 29, 1952. They immigrated to Canada in 1953 and had four daughters. Margaret and Douglas enjoyed a marriage filled with love for almost 50 years. Her blessed Douglas died in 2000. Margaret stayed in the home that Douglas built, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Because of her special needs daughter, Frances, Margaret was on and involved with many types of council to improve the care and living conditions for Persons with Disabilities. Margaret went to nursing school in her forties to help implement the family income. Working for many years at Luther Home where lifelong friendships were made. She had many interests, reading, getting together with her friends, she loved the Real Estate Market and her girls were blessed to have their very own personal Wedding Planner. Margaret was devoted to her faith and was a long time member of the Kildonan Presbyterian Church. Margaret was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, enjoying as well as partaking in many of their events, especially the "Robbie Burns Day" Margaret was much loved and is greatly missed. She leaves behind daughter Linda (Brittany and Tiffany) Clayton; daughter Frances Robbie; daughter Brenda Robbie (Lauren and Alexander Schoen) and daughter Alexsandra "Sandy" with son-in-law Randy (Scott and Nicole) Koropas. • I remember the first time I had met Mr and Mrs Robbie. they welcomed my in their home with open arms. you knew you were in a loving home, but when we would have conversations sandy would always have to repeat what he said for they had such a strong Scottish accent. as years went on I learned to understand them better. Mrs Robbie always looked her best every time I saw her and she always had a smile on her face. I got to speak with her in july on the phone. she was not well but she never let you know it. she was happy that i called and i was happy I got to talk with her too, rest in peace Mrs Robbie you will be sadly missed. lorrie and Dale Benson - Posted by: lorrie benson (friend of family) on: Oct 19, 2013

  • My deepest condolences to the Robbie family. All of us Keeleys (there were 8 of us) hung around with and were friends with at least one of the Robbies as we lived only a block apart. I remember when Mr. Robbie was fixing up the ceiling over Sandra's room and I had a sleepover there with plastic still on the ceiling. I always loved Mrs. Robbie's accent. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Debbie (Keeley) Schmidt (Past Neighbour) on: Oct 19, 2013
