Growing up as kids along the Red River, Russ was more like a brother. I recall his mom being pregnant with Larry at that time. She was an angel rescuing me when a bigger kid threw a brick at me creasing my head with blood everywhere. We were River Rats and played at the Edward Street Beach and dock. At times almost drowning when sitting in a tethered row boat after a bigger ship going by, Granite Rock, or MS Keenora. We sure would get bounced. Russ was very funny. Fond memories. Witnessing the '50, and other floods. Your Dad's Barber Shop on Henry Ave. Russ jumping off buildings wearing a cape thinking he could fly. Somehow he never got hurt. We lost touch when they moved to Fountain St., and eventually Collegiate in St. James. Hopefully we can meet up again pal. I will always remember Russ as having that pleasant laid-back style of working. Regardless of the chaos around court movement in the T or at Princess, Russ would just shrug his shoulder and say Ah....,ya, it's going alright." Bon Voyage Russell. - Posted by: Ron Coles (Former co-worker) on: Oct 22, 2013
