ROBERT EDWARD MCINTYRE
Born: Oct 21, 1948
Date of Passing: Oct 20, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT EDWARD MCINTYRE October 21, 1948 October 20, 2013 Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Bob passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years Eadie, his son John (Linda), and his daughter Kathy Drury (Sheldon). His grandchildren Jessica (Blair), Kyle, Donnie, and Erik. Bob is also survived by his sister Gail Vrooman (Irv), nephews Chris (Lori), Cameron (Michael) and father-in-law Ed Webb. Bob grew up on Macklin Avenue in Winnipeg where he lived two doors down from Eadie. They were childhood sweethearts. In his youth he was a pool shark who ruled the tables at the Northgate Bowl. Upon graduation from Garden City Collegiate, Bob left Winnipeg and went to Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC. On his return to Winnipeg he married Eadie and started his family and career in the steel industry with Dominion Bridge before moving to Manitoba Rolling Mills where he worked until his retirement. Bob and Eadie raised their family in Stonewall, MB where Bob curled, and was a former president of the Stonewall Kinsmen Club, and volunteered wherever needed. Bob's passion was golf. He could always be found at the crack of dawn at the Teulon Golf Club with Wayne and Mel. It was there where one day, he hit the perfect shot, and got a hole-in-one on the 5th hole. Bob introduced his boys to his love of golf and took them with him to the course whenever possible. He was the best grandpa! We would like to invite his friends to celebrate Bob's life at The Lions Community Centre, 5 Keith Cosens Drive, Stonewall, on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rosewood Lodge or South Interlake 55 plus. We would like to thank Dr. Graham and the wonderful staff at Rosewood Lodge for their compassionate care. MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net
