Date of Passing: Oct 19, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDMOND GODFREY KLAPECKI July 19, 1928 - October 19, 2013 Ed passed away in the presence of his family, in hospital, after a brief period of illness. He was ready to reunite with his previously deceased wife Dallas, whom he so deeply missed since her passing in 1997. He is sorely missed by his daughter and son, Karyn from Toronto and Keith from Winnipeg. and his dear daughter-in-law Danielle from Winnipeg. He is already terribly missed by his grandchildren Danylo and Alexa from Toronto, and Tyler and Natalie from Winnipeg, and their partners. He had just met his great-grandchild Kingston, from Toronto, who will always have a twinkle in his eye from Ed. He is survived by his sister Wanda Chrobak, and many nieces and nephews across Canada and the Far East. Ed, and the Klapecki family, were parishioners of the Holy Ghost Church for generations. He was an altar boy and met his wife Dallas at a church function. He worked for CN rail and then apprenticed at MacDonald Brothers in the Sheet Metal business. Courageously he decided to start a new business 50 years ago - Advance Sheet Metal - which he was so proud of, and was grateful to his son Keith, and grandson Tyler, for taking it on and continuing in his tradition. He was dedicated, and the long and hard work he did was also supported by his faithful work college and companion Lloyd Little. He spent many wonderful winters in Mesa, AZ with his wife Dallas. They had wonderful trips south with his brother Ted and wife Eleanor, as well as his dear friends Ron and Marlene Fincaryk. He was the 'ultimate driver' and once drove us all across Canada and the USA, with the goal of attending a family wedding in San Diego. Above all he loved and believed in family. He loved golfing and had buddies on the courses in Winnipeg and Arizona. We will all miss his determination and capricious smile and twinkle. Thank you to Dr. Michael Szul for looking in on Dad at crucial times. Thanks to Dr. Buchel and the nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital for your loving medical care. Thank you to all of you out there, for your prayers and loving send-off for Ed. We know he will be smiling in deep appreciation from above. Thank you as well to our loving Pallbearers: Gerry, Don, Reg and Tyler Klapecki, Danylo Szul and Lloyd Little. Prayers will be held on Friday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., followed by interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Dear Karyn & Keith Our family is very sorry for the loss of your father. At the time your message reached me, we had just come home from Vancouver on October 25th. Since then I have tried countless times to reach Karyn by phone without success. I know how very much your Dad missed your mother and now they are together once more. There are many fond memories I have in my heart of the two of them and the happy times when we were all together. With our sincere sympathy, Valdine & Bill, Billy & Cathy - Posted by: Valdine Crow (Niece ) on: Nov 10, 2013

Dear Karyn, Keith & Family: We were so sorry to hear of your father's death. I was always so fond of both your mom & dad. Since hearing about your father's death I have spent a lot of time thinking about the past and the years growing up and time spent at your grandparents home. It was a wonderful time for me and I loved being a part of the Klapecki family. Over the past few years Frank & I tried to get in touch with your father on trips to Winnipeg but we could never catch him at home and there was no answering machine. We even drove over to the house but no one was home. Our prayers are with you at this time and Karyn once you are settled back at home I would love to hear from you. My e-mail is attached to this message. With our love and deepest sympathy, - Posted by: Evelyn & Frank Gray (nee Prokop) (Cousin) on: Oct 23, 2013
