Also to mourn his loss are his mother Emilienne, numerous family members and countless friends. He will be welcomed in heaven by the members of his family (his father Armand, his brother Claude, his sister Jeanette, father-in-law Léon) and his many friends that have gone before him. Art loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a very good business person and he often used his numerous talents to help people in need. He also loved to be with people (mainly to make them laugh), Miami Beach, his numerous collectibles but the "love of his life" was his family. He greatly appreciated their selfless support throughout his life but especially at the end of his journey. The family would like to thank all those who supported Art in countless ways during the last several years. Rest in peace "Art the Fart"! Funeral services to be held at the Otterburne R. C. Church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation. • I am very saddened to hear of Art's passing. I loved his sense of humour and his laugh. I will always remember the fireworks we would have at home, and Art would shout "Oh ya! Mine are better!!" We shouted back and forth and decided it was a tie. He will forever be in my heart and sadly missed. May you now rest in peace. - Posted by: Colleen Fehr (Braun) (neighbour in St. Adolphe) on: Oct 29, 2013

  • Over 30 years ago, my family (Father Pierre and mother Jocelyne)went camping with Art's family and friends in Sioux Narrows on the August long weekend. It rained the entire time we were there. Art (in his usually Art fashion) entertained "the troups" by singing his version of "Yellow Bird". He sang it so much that I still remember the words. Everytime I think of Art, it's how he managed to keep everyone happy, even though we were all soaked. I am truly sorry for your loss. He was loved and touched many many people during his short stay here on earth. God Bless! • We are very sorry to hear the news of our friend. Art will always be remembered as someone who was always upbeat and full of life. This last year was especially hard on him but he held his head up high and showed us all that no matter how bad things get, we must take life one day at a time and live it to the fullest. No matter how tough things got, Art was always there to show us all just how precious life really is and that we should all live life to the fullest until we are called to meet our maker. Our deepest sympathies go out to all of the Poirier family. Your tears will eventually dry and then you can reflect on the many good times that you had with a man of honour and integrity. God's speed my friend, Miami Beach will never be the same without you! - Posted by: Ken and Dianne McCourt (Friends) on: Oct 23, 2013
