Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON LISLE MAY Gordon's life was celebrated on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in The Bridge Church, 620 Oxbow Bend Road. He will be placed to rest in the Last Post Columbaria at the Field of Honour for service personnel in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204-897-4665, is in care of arrangements.

GORDON LISLE MAY Papa passed away peacefully at 93 years of age in his snoozing chair on Sunday afternoon, October 20, 2013. Gordon will be deeply missed by his wife Mavis, after 67 years of marriage; sister Ellen (Jack); children - Russ (Lori), Jeff (Barb), Doug (Kathie) and Laura (Paul); grandchildren - Lisa (Kensley), Christopher, Nathan, Chelsea, Gord (Maegan), Kiirsten, Ben (Quinn), Monique (Monty); and great-grandchildren Mason, Kaeli, Paige, Lauren, Matthew and Lindsey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews; their partners and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harris and Flossie; brothers Stan and Les; sister Alice; and daughter Donna. Dad was born January 26, 1920 in Indian Head, SK. He was a RCAF veteran, serving as a fighter/bomber pilot attached to the 39th Squadron of the RAF in the Mediterranean Theatre during the Second World War. He maintained membership in the 500 Wing RCAF Association and participated in several reunions of the war time pilots. Post war, he enjoyed a long career in the retail and commercial clothing business, easing into retirement around 1992 ... do the math! Papa was an avid curler, with over 60 years membership in the Granite Curling Club, and a passionate golfer (scoring 3 holes-in-one), continuing through the summer of 2013 at Assiniboine Golf Course. Throughout his life he was active in a wide variety of church, community and business organizations. He has enjoyed the fellowship of residents and staff at The Westhaven over the past eight years. We will celebrate Papa's life on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in The Bridge Church, 620 Oxbow Bend Road (West Perimeter Hwy., South of Portage Ave.). He will be placed to rest in the Last Post Columbaria at the Field of Honour for service personnel in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. "Papa, we know how much you loved your family and we all sure loved you." In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favourite charity. Most sincere sympathy and ever so much love to you Mavis and all of the May family. To know Gord was to love and respect him. His presence was always such a pleasure and he was so considerate of others. The Santo family always looked so forward to your "passing through", summer visits and they will always be remembered and will be missed. Dear Auntie Mavis and Cousins: Our prayers are with you during this sad time. Uncle Gordie will be missed by so many people. When I spoke with Auntie Mavis she said that her family was a great support making all the arrangements and paperwork. She said without all of you she would be totally overwhelmed.
